Redsun reads your jobs, applicants, companies, contacts, placements and users through the itris API, publishes open roles to your website, and files every applicant in your itris Applicant Inbox with their CV and the job they applied for.
Your itris API address and an API user.
itris runs on your own server, so Redsun needs that server's API address plus the username and password of an API configuration. Your itris administrator creates the configuration in the itris Management Utility, and it needs an itris API licence.
- Jobs, applicants, companies, contacts and placements are read with a last-modified filter, so an hourly run fetches only what changed
- Once a day Redsun reads every job in full and closes any role on your site that itris no longer has open
- itris limits each API configuration to 10 calls a minute and 80 an hour by default, so the first import of a large database can take days unless your administrator raises the limit

Open jobs as job pages
Jobs whose itris status reads as open come across with the formatted advert, pay rate and currency, contract type and working arrangement. itris jobs have no location field, so no location is shown.
Applicants in the Applicant Inbox
A website application becomes an itris Applicant Inbox entry naming the job, and your team processes it the same way as an applicant from a job board.
CV with the application
The CV the candidate uploaded travels inside the inbox entry, with a note of how they applied and their cover letter.
Duplicate check by email
Before filing, Redsun searches itris for an applicant with the same email address and names them on the inbox entry, and itris runs its own duplicate check when your team processes it.
Companies, contacts and placements
Client companies, their contacts, placements and your itris users come across too, feeding consultant profiles and placement counts on the site.
Fees and personal data left out
Charge rates, fee splits, dates of birth, gender and National Insurance numbers are never read, and applicants' home addresses stay in itris.

Common questions about connecting itris to a Redsun-powered recruitment website.
- What do I need from itris to connect Redsun? +
- An itris API licence and an API configuration, which your itris administrator creates in the itris Management Utility. The configuration gives Redsun a username and password and needs the Job, Applicant, Company, Contact, Placement and ApplicantInbox permission groups. You also need the address of your own itris API, which whoever hosts your itris server can give you.
- Why do website applications go to the Applicant Inbox? +
- The Applicant Inbox is where itris expects applicants from websites and job boards. Your team reviews the entry, itris checks it for duplicates, and processing it creates the applicant and applies them to the job. The applicant record and the job link appear in itris at that point. Filing an inbox entry also takes a single call, which matters under the default limit of 10 calls a minute.
- Which itris jobs appear on my website? +
- Jobs whose status name reads as open, such as Open, Live or Active. On-hold and closed statuses stay off the site, and so does any status name Redsun does not recognise. The connection test on the Connections screen lists each of your statuses and how Redsun reads it, and if your live status has its own name you can list it under Live job statuses.
