Campaign Links for Loxo
Step-by-step: create the custom field in Loxo, wire it to Redsun, launch a campaign, and merge the URL in your Loxo email template.
Create the custom text field in Loxo
In Loxo, go to **Settings → Workspace → Custom Fields → People** and add a new **Text** field. Name it `Redsun Link` (or anything you prefer — the label is for your team, not the API). Loxo assigns it to one of the generic slots: `custom_text_1`, `custom_text_2`, etc. Make a note of which slot — that's the **field key** Redsun needs.
If you're not sure which slot to pick, open any existing person in Loxo and check which `custom_text_*` slots already have values in them.
Loxo's custom-text fields are shared across your whole workspace. Pick a slot that isn't already in use for another purpose, or tracking URLs will overwrite that data.
Tell Redsun the field key
In Redsun, go to **Intelligence → Settings → Campaign Link Field**. Paste the field key (e.g. `custom_text_1`) into the **Field ID** box. The label is optional — use it to remind yourself which Loxo field this maps to. Click Save. Redsun now knows where to write the URL on each Loxo person when you launch a campaign.
Make sure Loxo contacts have synced
Redsun can only write URLs into contacts it knows about. Open the Connections page and confirm Loxo is connected and has run a sync. You need at least a few people with email addresses in Loxo for the campaign launch to have something to target. If the contact count is zero, trigger a sync manually. Loxo people without email addresses are skipped — Redsun requires an email for identity resolution.
Connections pageLaunch a campaign
Open **Intelligence → Campaign Links**. Each consultant has their own card. Expand the consultant who owns the outreach, click **New campaign**, and: 1. Enter a **campaign name** (e.g. `Q1 Candidate Outreach`). 2. Pick a **destination** — the page the recipient lands on after clicking. Options include your Homepage, Hiring landing page, Candidate landing page, or the apply forms. 3. Click **Launch**. Redsun enumerates your synced Loxo contacts, mints one unique tracking URL per contact, and writes it into each person's `Redsun Link` custom field via the Loxo API.
Destination choice matters. Pick landing pages for awareness campaigns (longer engagement, more intent signal) and apply forms for urgency-driven pushes.
Verify the URLs were written
The launch dialog shows a summary: `Pre-written 47 tracking URLs. 47 ok`. If any failed, the error appears inline with the contact ID and Loxo's response — paste it to us to debug. Sanity check: open one of the contacts in Loxo and confirm the custom field now contains a URL like `https://yourdomain.com/hiring/q1-candidate-outreach-Abc12345`.
Use the merge token in your Loxo email
Build your email in Loxo as you would normally. For the CTA link, use Loxo's merge token for the custom field you wrote — typically one of: ``` {{custom_text_1}} {{person.custom_text_1}} ``` The exact syntax depends on where in Loxo you're composing the email (campaign template, personal sequence, signature). When in doubt, use the merge-field picker in Loxo's editor and select the field by its label (`Redsun Link`).
Always send a test email to yourself first. If the merge token renders as literal `{{custom_text_1}}` text instead of a URL, the wrong syntax was used — switch to Loxo's merge-field picker rather than typing it manually.
Track engagement
When a recipient clicks, the URL redirects through your domain (setting the `rs_vid` cookie) and lands on the page you chose. Their click and every subsequent page view flow into the Known Visitors dashboard and the campaign's click count increments in the Campaign Links tab. High-intent return visitors trigger re-engagement alerts per your notification preferences.
Known Visitors dashboardRe-launching and re-sending
You can re-launch the same campaign (same name) and Redsun will mint fresh tokens and overwrite the Loxo custom field — useful when you're re-sending to the same list with updated messaging. If you want a new campaign alongside the old one, just pick a different name and launch. Each campaign gets its own Campaign Links row, click count, and attribution bucket.
